The Construction Industry Council (CIC) has been organising CIC BIM Competition annually since 2019 and providing an excellent platform for the young generation to enhance their knowledge and skills on BIM and reveal their BIM talent. The competition aims to promote the practical uses of Building Information Modelling (BIM) through collaborative and competitive learning approaches among tertiary students in construction-related disciplines.

Now in its fifth year, "CIC BIM Competition 2023" aims to challenge the participant's creativity and innovation in the design of an existing building of the CIC Trade Testing Centre in Aberdeen into a new Construction Innovation and Technology Application Centre (CITAC). The competition is open to full-time higher education (post-secondary) students, and part-time students who are pursuing top-up degrees. Teams are needed to be formed with a minimum 3 to maximum 6 members from at least 2 construction disciplines.

By joining this competition, students will have opportunities to learn various BIM software with free licenses through attending hands-on training webinars. There will be mentors with a professional background providing guidance and support for participating teams.
